Sting is the world-famous singer from Britain whose name can, and must pronounce the prefix “grand”. But Sting is not one of those who adhere to the framework, which is why he is great, and that is why his new album “If On A Winter’s Night …” bears no resemblance to one of the previous works.
“If On A Winter’s Night …”- this is an album that has its name pushes you for a romantic mood. The first song that justifies the romantic mood, this is a wonderful acoustic track “Gabriel’s Message”. The second track “Soul Cake” is replaced with a romantic spirit, the attitude dance, but you barely have time to provoke, as Sting once again lowers the speed, offering us an exotic melody of “There Is No Rose Of Such Virtue”. So, with the constant change of rhythm still will be replaced by one song after another, throughout the album. But it is not in any way harmful to the plate, as the main attraction of the singer, as always, remains his voice, and inimitable style of performance. And of course it is worth noting that Sting could not do without the songs on the themes that are so dear to his heart, so he wrote another song about the sea, “Christmas At Sea”, and also performed another medieval song, “Lo How A Rose E’er Blooming.
Of course critics will certainly find cons in this work, and be sure to criticize Sting, but then we got another, bears no resemblance to one of the previous album, and it’s much nicer than if Sting followed the previous subject, and tried to create a copy of the previous successful works.
